The Institution of Masters in Disaster and Emergency Management Malaysia (IMDEMM) was established on 19th September 2000 by a group of professionals who saw the need for a dedicated body to champion the field of disaster and emergency management in the country.
Malaysia faces recurring floods, landslides, haze, industrial incidents and public health emergencies. IMDEMM brings together practitioners, academics, government agencies and industry to share knowledge, raise professional standards and strengthen the nation’s ability to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters.
Today, our members include emergency responders, safety officers, policy makers, researchers and students. Through conferences, training programmes, community awareness initiatives and research collaboration, we work toward one shared goal: a safer and more resilient Malaysia.
